The photos you see here are part of the project done by the Atkin’s Architecture Group for an international design competition. It represents a resort in China, a Water World built in a quarry, that is filled with water. A good example of a natural element combined with the modern, this design it won the first prize in the competition.

Wind in a hole????
the problem with people like the designers…they can’t think. wind will never enter the bottom of the big hole.
AND, what about the pumping cost of the giant waterfall?

Actually, I don’t think that is a real waterfall, but part of the building that is made to look like a waterfall.
Yeah, I suspect if this thing were ever built it would end up being the world’s first resort dedicated to mosquitoes. Stagnant water, big hole in the ground hundreds of feet deep, humid temperature = malarial madenss.
regarding to clint’s wind problem…wind does fall in to that hole…if u ever did study geography…
the matter isn’t about if the wind will in or not…it’s if there’s any or enough wind to fall in
but who needs that much wind when it’s cooler down in that hole?
