A homeless woman lived in the closet of a Japanese man for one year before she was found and arrested.
Apparently the fact that someone was living in his home wasn’t enough to tip him off. It took the fact that food was missing from his house to give him a hint that something was wrong. Since he lived alone, and didn’t have any rats, he installed security cameras in his rooms and set them up to transmit to his mobile phone.
Shortly after, he saw something in those images, and thinking that there was a burglar in the house, he called the police. When the police arrived, they found the house locked, but when they entered the house they found something they didn’t expect.
“We searched the house … checking everywhere someone could possibly hide,” Itakura said. “When we slid open the shelf closet, there she was, nervously curled up on her side.”
It was a homeless woman, 58 years old, that entered the house when the owner left without locking the door. She lived for one year in a small closet, on a futon she moved in it, taking showers and eating the man’s food when he was out of the house.

Actually, I think it means the first time she entered was one time when the man left the door unlocked. After she got in, she stayed there for a whole year, only coming out of the closet to explore the house when the man was out. I can see how this could work for her. There are closets in my house that I haven’t opened in a very long time…
Why do call her homeless? She had a home: in the cupboard.

That is so sad. Ifeel for her. She could of done horrible things. But all she did was sleep. eat a little, and shower so she wouldnt stink up the place.
I hope she finds a place to live in.

i know this is real cause i just saw it on the news like, less than a week ago.
If I had been that man, I would have realized there was someone in my house, and upon realizing it was just a simple old woman, I would make her my slave under threat of turning her into the police. Every night she would have to lick the grime and sweat off my feet, and clean and cook. And if I ever got pissed at life, I’d just shove a metal rod up her ass to hear her scream.

As for the homeless woman, I think it’s really unfortunate and I hope the police find a shelter for her instead of locking her up in a jail cell.
