The flight, belonging to Go! airlines, was on a 214 mile route between Honolulu and Hilo airport in Hawaii, on February 13, 2008. The airplane, which was flying at 21,000 feet, was contacted by the air traffic controllers, and got no response from it, despite several attempts at making contact. Contact was finally made when the airplane already had flown 15 miles past the airport. It finally landed 15 minutes later.

The preliminary report that was just released by the National Transportation Safety Board concludes that apparently the two pilots fell asleep. No problems were found with the carbon monoxide in the plane or the pressurization system.

On that flight, there were 40 passengers and 3 crew members. The two pilots are currently suspended and flight logs show that they finished their shift on February 12 at 2:47 PM and returned to duty at 5:40 AM on February 13.

A 26 year old woman from Anderson, Indiana was arrested on charges that she gave her daughter alcohol and pot, as a birthday gift for her 11th birthday.

There were 3 other minors present at the birthday party, and the cops are charging her with one felonious count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The kid accepted the gift, and according to the other kids, she drank from the alcohol and inhaled from a blunt.

What did the mother had to say? That she had alcohol and pot with her own adult friends at the party, but didn’t gave any to the kid.

A Briton, traveling through Dubai on his way to England, was arrested and sentenced to 4 years in jail, for having a microscopic piece of cannabis stuck to the bottom of one of his shoes. Keith Brown by name, this guy was stopped while he was walking through the Dubai airport and searched with high tech equipment.

The search revealed a piece of cannabis on the bottom of one of his shoes, too small to be seen with the naked eye, weighing only 0.003 grams.

With their zero-tolerance policy when it comes to drugs, UAE did this kind of thing before. Just to show you how insane this is, another man was thrown in jail in the past for having in his possession three poppy seeds, left from a lunch he had before he left England.

Another man that had in his pocket a similar speck of cannabis last November is still waiting for his sentence.

Meet Gibson and Boo Boo, the tallest and the smallest dog in the world. They just met near the White House, in Washington D.C., to celebrate The Guinness World Records Day.

Gibson, a Great Dane that is 107cm tall was named the tallest dog in the world in 2004. In 2007, Boo Boo took the title for the smallest dog, she is 10.16cm tall and it’s a Chihuahua.

Both of them are bred in the United States. Boo Boo, the tiny one, was the size of a thumb when she was born, and actually had to be fed with an eye dropper when she was young.

With the large diversity of animals that nature blessed this planet with, it’s no wonder that there are quite a few species that aren’t exactly pleasing to the human eye. It might not be relevant from their point of view, but from ours, there sure are quite a few ugly critters out there. Below you can see 5 of the ugliest faces nature has to offer. 5. Russian Wheat Aphid

Less then 2mm long, with a pair of eyes that just creep me out and a saliva that is toxic to plants. This is the Russian Wheat Aphid, an invasive species that causes losses in cereal crops.

4. Almiqui

Small, ugly, with a weird nose and venomous saliva. This is the Almiqui, also known as the Cuban Solenodon, an endangered species that lives underground.

3. Mata Mata Turtle

You can see above its head from profile, it’s the Mata Mata Turtle, with a large, triangular head, a horn on the nose and lots of tubercles and flaps of skin. It’s a large land turtle, that can be found in South America. Two more pics below, because it’s so worth it.

2. Dobsonfly

What you see above is the face of a Dobsonfly, put under the microscope. Isn’t it sweet how those eyes are looking at you?

1. Helmeted Water Toad

Just look at this lovely creature and those hands. It’s the Helmeted Water Toad, and apparently it lives in Chile and feeds on toads, among other things. With a maximum size of 32cm, this is a creepy not so little guy.
